Rebirth

A wealthy man who wished for immortality hired a team of scientists to achieve that.

Upon his death, his mind was digitized and uploaded into a computer. Cyberspace became his world in which he roamed freely.

However, the man longed to restore his humanity even at the cost of becoming mortal again. The team of scientists engineered an embryo to contain his mind and had granted him a normal birth. The child does not seem to remember his past life.

The team of scientists seemingly disbanded but continued to observe his growth and his becoming of a wealthy patron once again. Still, he remembers nothing. But his desire remains.

Then, the man, wishing for immortality, hired a team of scientists to achieve that.

And on just when his mind was about to be uploaded, he overheard one of the scientists mutter "Version 9.0 ready."
